We will not have the time to teach ALL of the pre-recorded concepts, vocabulary, and reading content during the weekly meetings. You should be ready to dedicate ~ 30 minutes to 1 hour of your own time, outside of class. Prepare, view, and practice the content that will be covered for that week..
Our "1 hour"/week time will be for us to meet up, discuss any questions or pronunciation/comprehension challenges, and to review the information you have already practiced/read/watched.
We strongly suggest that you set up small, independent "study groups" to practice both before our weekly class meeting (to prepare and learn the content) as well as after our weekly class meetings (to review/reinforce the content and to replace unhelpful habits with good practices!).
*Using online resources (websites, YouTube, Vimeo, blogs/vlogs) can help you in positive and negative ways! There are some resources that provide "best practices" and are very good Spanish models—typically Spanish-fluent and/or trained Instructors of Spanish. But there are also many "2nd Language Learners"...AKA "students of Spanish" trying to take up space on the Internet with their dysfluency, incorrect pronunciations, lack of correct accent, and superior attitudes about their abilities, which is not evidenced in their videos. (If you have concerns or questions about which resources are the most useful and will provide you clear direction, appropriate grammatical structure, and Spanish Culture-priority, please forward the resource link to me and we will provide additional guidance and counsel.)
