Learn and practice introducing yourself (first and last name) and other salutations!
Read about the History of Spanish around the world, and track Spanish's growth and influences.
During the second week, please:
Continue practicing your alfabeto/abecedario. Focus on pronouncing the letters clearly and accurately, speed is not an issue)
Learn and practice Pronouns
Learn and practice Ordinal Numbers
Learn and practice Family (familia) vocabulary words and the Verb "to be" and the Verb "to have"
Read about Mexican Culture in America
During the third week, please:
Continue fine-tuning your pronunciation and comprehension of introductions (names, pronouns, family) - speed is now a factor!
Learn and practice Color vocabulary words
Learn and practice the verb "to eat" and related nouns
Learn and practice to say "Goodbye!"
Learn and practice the verb "to drink" and related nouns
Read about Culture - Mexican Holidays (Part 1)
During the fourth week, please:
Review and practice Colors and verbs "to be", "to have", "to drink" and "to eat"
Learn and practice WH Question Words
Learn and practice verbs "to like", "to dislike"
Learn and practice verbs "to love", "to want"
Learn and practice verbs "to go", "to do/make"
Read about Culture - Mexican Holidays (Part 2)
During the fifth week, please:
Learn to practice describing and identifying people, incorporating colors, numbers, relationships, etc.
Learn to discuss and ask questions about people in a group
Read about famous Latin@/e/x people
During the sixth week, please:
Learn and practice work/office vocabulary
Learn and practice giving directions in Spanish
Create and practice a mini-story including work/office-related content
Read about Spanish grammar and sentence structure
During the seventh week, please:
Practice and learn BASIC* medical vocabulary *primer/beginner information, NOT to be considered comprehensive!
Practice and learn symptoms, illnesses, and body parts vocabulary
Create a mini-dialogue with a partner (or mini-story on your own) where you interact with a Spanish-speaking customer or co-worker about a medical situation/illness)
Read about appropriate Spanish interactions and expectations
During the eighth week, please:
Practice and review Time vocabulary ("last" and "next") and review more about Directions.
Practice and review Emotions/Feelings/Moods vocabulary.
Practice and review Weather and Seasons vocabulary.
Practice and review Spanish vocabulary so far. Start creating your mini-story that you'll present to the class!
Create a mini-story about introducing yourself, what you like to eat and drink, and how you would start to help a customer with a medical/illness need.
