Hello—so today we are going to discuss two terms which is "amar" which is "love" and "querer" which is "want" and "like".
So this one's a little tricky because typically we use the word "amar" = "to love", as in "we love a person". Or sometimes we can use it as in "we love to do something", like "I love to socialize" or "I love to dance"—it doesn't necessarily mean a physical love, right? ...Like "I love my husband" or "I love my children".
For the word "querer" it can mean both things as well. It can mean "to like someone" like "I like my friend" or "I like my neighbor"...um, but it also means like "I want to do something" or "I want something"...um like "I want to eat", "I want to dance", "I want to go out".
So this one's a little tricky. So the way I...I created the videos for you guys to practice is on the very basic term of just "to want" and "to love", not necessarily "to like to do something" or "to love to do something".
I hope that makes sense and I hope that that helps. But we can always discuss more during class. Thank you, guys!
